Presentations
Presented two writing talks/workshops with slideshows for professional artists June 30 - July 1st, 2023, at the art studio of Carrie Leigh Swim in Houston. “What’s in a Name” was to help artists title their works and rediscover the meaningfulness of names, and “Art in Time and Heart” was an artist statement workshop to help the artists compose and refine several “I am” statements and key phrases to effectively express who they are and their artistic process for different artworks to clients.
Presented “Dum Spiro, Spero” for Fall 2024 Convocation at Blinn College, a forty-five minute, listener-involved lecture about the value of incorporating Latin studies into classes and how to do so.
Research Projects
Spring 2025; For the capstone project for TCCTA Faculty Fellows, my group researched how and why membership has fallen after COVID. My group and I brainstormed questions to ask and emailed surveys to our departments at our respective colleges, then group member Britni Rose compiled the data. We then presented her slideshow in a zoom meeting in which I “hosted” by talking through the significance of each finding after she read off the data.
